As part of RAU’s ongoing material-led research, we invited the wider RAU community to gather together and weave in conversation with materials in the recent Objectspace exhibition by Italian designer Martino Gamper. Inhabiting Gamper’s Endgrained project (which reimagines the Objectspace gallery as a social space for encounter and interaction), we worked with a series of locally-sourced materials — raw and processed fibre alongside biocomposites and novel fabrications — prompting contemplation; consideration and questioning of our current understandings of textile potentials.
